Christadelphians even refused to take up arms when Jehovah's Witnesses still thought combatant service was OK as long as you didn't shoot to kill...

JW refugees and politics
by Anders Andersen inin the netherlands, an action going on to get two brothers from sierra leone a residence permit.. the men fled the horrible civil war in their country when 14 and 11 years old.
without parents.. they have now lived in the netherlands more than half of their lives.

Just to clarify: Watchtower hasn't done anything at all to help these guys. And they won't do anything either.
It's only other churches and politicians that help the guys...

@Former brother,
Just because you fail to do proper research doesn't mean you're right.

In The Netherlands, an action going on to get two brothers from Sierra Leone a residence permit.
The men fled the horrible civil war in their country when 14 and 11 years old. Without parents.
They have now lived in The Netherlands more than half of their lives. They are well educated, have nothing in Sierra Leone and everything in The Netherlands. They want to contribute to society but they can't, because they are illegal residents thus not allowed to have a job.
One of the men is an active JW (a young orphan refugee ends up in a cult, what a surprise....)
Since they can be evicted any day, people have started lobbying for them. Local politicians and churches actively support their cause. A petition to parliament has been started. There have been and will be protest rallies and visits to the parliament.
http://archief.ukrant.nl/english/brothers-at-risk-of-deportation.html
One can only wonder:
- Will the JW be counseled or punished for allowing politicians and churches helping him?
- Will people see the difference between Watchtower and JW not doing anything for their spiritual brother, while other organizations including 'competing' churches quite literally try your save his life?
- At what point can discussing your cause with politicians, or going to parliament, or protesting be classified as 'being involved in politics'? How does it compare with not joining labor unions as to avoid any connection to 'political' actions? Where is the line between OK and being disfellowshipped?
FYI I fully support that these guys should get to stay in The Netherlands. Just wondering about the JW implications.

Unfortunately I am an heretic apostate dar'manda: I hardly know anything about Star Trek. Or Star Wars. Haven't seen or read LOTR neither. So I guess I'll see Fek'lhr in Gre'thor soon...

What is the alternative to JW?
by Formerbrother ini mean this with all due respect, i would like to hear from genuine people who think jw have it wrong and then what is the truth?.
im not talking about silly little quibbles here and there.. is jehovah real?
the the bible is word?
-
Anders Andersen
So it seems there is not one clear alternative, if there was one then it should be obvious.
Leave the LDS Church and then just wonder alone, or am I missing something?
Is there Gods true worshipers on Earth today as Jesus said there would be? If they are not Mormons then who are they? You realize apologists from other religions ask the same questions?
Would that mean their religions are also the one true religion?

A lot of questions need answers before we can even begin to attempt to answer your question:
- Do any gods exist?
- Do we know how many? How do we know?
- If any gods exist, do they care about what humans think and do?
- If any gods exist, and at least one of them cares about what humans think and do, how are we supposed to know who these gods are and what they like and don't like?
- If any gods exist, and at least one of them cares about what humans think and do, and somehow we have come to know who these gods are and what they like and don't like, do we even care about these gods? Why? Any reasons why we should worship them?
- If any gods exist, and at least one of them cares about what humans think and do, and somehow we have come to know who these gods are and what they like and don't like, and we even care about these gods and have found reasons to worship them, would these gods expect organized worship, aka would they have one or more peoples? How many peoples would that be? How do we know?
Each of us can answer these questions for themselves, no need to argue in here.
I already quit at #1. I no longer believe that any of the Greek gods actually exist as real deities.
So my opinion is that no gods exist at all, hence to me all discussions about who is or is not worshipping any specific god in the correct way is as useful as discussing the color of the glitter dust on magic unicorns' tails.
Of course, others have different opinions and go through great lengths to 'prove'
Star Trek is the best sci-fi series (sorry wrong forum)their religious ways are best or even the only acceptable ones. -

Self Delusion
by Coded Logic inonce upon a time there was a "kiai master" who trained his students how to knock people over - no touch - with purely the power of his chi.
how he came to think he actually had telekinetic powers - or how his students became accomplices in his self delusion - i have no idea.
but he was so convinced he could actually do these things he issued a challenge and put up $5,000 for any martial artist who could beat him.

Call for Judicial Hearing by signed letter
by sp74bb ini'm quite surprised about the new approach of some local congregation brothers respect about my fade.... funny, ilegal and very dangerous in view of the different laws regarding personal data and minorities in spain and in the eu.... i already organized a press meeting with main newspapers in spain.

Sudden realization:
Shepherd the Flock states specifically:
A judicial committee should not continue an investigation into alleged wrongdoing if the accused person makes known his decision to disassociate himself. (w84 7/1 p. 31) However, at no time should the elders ask the accused if he desires to disassociate himself.
So they must be really fed up with you!
